Aquarians filter ideas and even feelings through their intellects rather than their emotions, and are able to offer a fresh perspective on any aspect of life. Most Aquarians love conspiracy theories, speculating as to what various people might be doing behind the scenes and how this affects large groups of people. They also tend to come up with a variety of unusual solutions to the world’s problems, which range from brilliant innovations to crackpot schemes.
Eccentric and Unpredictable
Aquarius people are highly eccentric and usually prefer the company of other eccentric types. Easily bored and often restless, Aquarians seek out people who are original, creative and exciting, and sometimes even a little dangerous or unstable, in order to obtain novel experiences and have interesting conversations.
Aquarians are unpredictable, and sometimes get a reputation for unreliability as a result. They can be quite chaotic and scattered, and often reject social conventions, though they are susceptible to modern fads. They can be wacky and absent-minded, full of brilliant ideas but prone to highly impractical behaviour.
Aquarians are good creators and inventors. Most have scientific minds, suited for physics, chemistry, technical writing, work with computers, or the writing of science or speculative fiction. They usually have an interest in outer space, the possibility of life on other planets or anything futuristic. Many also have an interest in the occult and other paranormal or unexplained phenomena.
Extroverted and Experimental
Aquarius people are experimental sensation seekers and may get into trouble as a result. They love trying new things and constantly seek out novelty and change. This is a sign in need of constant intellectual stimulation. Aquarians tend to have a wide circle of acquaintances rather than spending time with just a few close friends and family members. They usually prefer to socialize and work within diverse groups rather than alone or in simple partnerships.
A Love of Debate
Despite a stubborn streak, Aquarians are more open than most to listening to and thinking about the ideas of others. While they are not at all combative or aggressive, they love to give their intellect a good workout with a worthy opponent in an intellectual debate.
Most Aquarians value intelligence and inventiveness over physical appearance and surface style. Lacking in prejudice, they tend to have friends of widely varying ages, cultural backgrounds and personality types.
Technological Aptitude
Aquarians fear boredom and need constant interaction with both people and machines. Most love modern technology, including computers, video games and gadgets. Aquarians usually have a talent for learning new gadgets, and tend to collect as many as possible. Most collect a variety of other unusual things as well, and these eclectic collections often end up strewn haphazardly around the house in an order that only the Aquarian can understand.
Generous and Bad with Money
Aquarians are very helpful, to the point of selflessness in some cases. An Aquarian will give his or her last $10 to someone in need. Aquarians are just as likely to help a complete stranger as friends or family members. They rarely discriminate against anyone and are generous to a fault. As a result, they have trouble saving money unless the ascendant falls in an earth or water sign. They tend to spend their cash as soon as they get it.
Humanitarian Leanings
Aquarians have a desire to do something on behalf of the world that will help those in need or suffering from oppression. They also have a strong sense of fairness, and tend to identify with those who are ostracized, oppressed, left out or persecuted for having beliefs different from the mainstream. Aquarians are extremely tolerant of the quirks, idiosyncrasies and strange beliefs of others, and are perfectly willing to stick up for unpopular viewpoints, ideologies or individuals if they feel that there is merit to them.
Tactless and Rebellious
Aquarians are rarely purposefully cruel but their tactlessness and emotional obliviousness combined with their natural contrariness can be upsetting to more sensitive individuals. There is also a strong streak of anarchy to the Aquarian personality. Aquarians are rebellious and freedom loving, causing them to reject any form of authority. The positive side of this drive to question authority and established orders can manifest as a tendency stick up for the underdog, protest injustice, get involved in causes and humanitarian activities, and even work to overthrow oppressive governments and institutions. This zealous love of democracy and freedom spills over into their interpersonal affairs – Aquarians will not tolerate anyone who seeks to possess or restrain them. Relationships with severely jealous types are usually doomed to failure.
Independent and Friendly
Aquarians are independent, friendly, progressive, open-minded and idealistic. These traits, combined with their rationality and logic, ensure that despite their unpredictable natures, they can act as stabilizing forces for those around them. Aquarians are rarely frightened or anxious and they tend to be confident and cheerful most of the time.
Typical Aquarians value intellectual prowess and uniqueness over physical appearance or other more shallow attributes when choosing friends and lovers. Only intelligent, creative, and original companions tend to hold their attention.
Unusual Requirements
Aquarians have odd or obscure standards for what they want in friends and lovers, and may have trouble relating to mainstream or conservative people. If they get involved with conventional or clingy individuals, they will soon wander off in search of companions they find more interesting. When Aquarians do find a clever, eccentric companion, however, they are usually extremely loyal, whether that person is good for them or not. Ideal companions are progressive rather than traditional, open-minded, intellectual, eccentric, and not exceptionally sensitive.
Generous and Sociable
Aquarians are generous with their time and money, though they may have trouble providing emotional support, as they tend to attack problems intellectually rather than intuitively. An Aquarian is just as likely to provide assistance to a stranger as a friend, and possessive lovers may become jealous of the fact that the Aquarian belongs to the world rather than any one individual. Aquarians also have an exaggerated need for freedom, which can be upsetting for more needy types. This means that Aquarians do best with mates who are as independent as they are, and who also prefer spending time with groups of people rather than cozy evenings at home with just the two of them.
Intellectually Detached and Even-Tempered
Aquarians have a tendency to give detached, intellectual answers to emotional questions, which can be hurtful to more sensitive people. On the other hand, they are often pleasant to live with because this detachment makes them easy going, tolerant, and even-tempered. While they love to engage in spirited debate, typical Aquarians are unlikely to be purposefully cruel or pick real fights about sensitive issues. Aquarians are by nature extremely tolerant of the quirks and idiosyncrasies of others (and have quite a few of their own). They are also nonjudgmental, and will listen to the problems and personal views of others with an open mind, offering unique solutions and fresh perspectives.
Experimental and Change-LovingAquarians love fresh new experiences, which can make their behaviour erratic and unpredictable. They have low boredom thresholds that prevent them from establishing routines and being satisfied with ordinary activities. They are most compatible with friends and lovers who share their need for novelty and exploration, and who are comfortable with change, as Aquarians will often turn their lives upside down on a whim if things get too stagnant. Aquarians will try almost anything once, and as a result, they often develop unusual or obscure interests, hobbies, and collections of things. They are more likely to establish friendships and romantic relationships with those who have equally eclectic and unusual tastes, and who can introduce them to new activities.

The Age of Aquarius...
So astrology, most would say, is total bunk. I agree that for the most part, it is. Yeah, I know there's no real scientific reason why a Leo girl born at 6:32 a.m. on July 24th should be a better communicator or more extroverted than anyone else. But the stuff makes for fascinating reading, especially when the description fits you. Here's the skinny on my sign, Aquarius courtesy of http://www.suite101.com. Most people that know me would agree that at least 96-98% of this is true of me:

Matters of the Heart
You guys, I'm about to do something unlike me in about 22 lines. Two weeks from now, I'm going to be celebrating my 4 month anniversary with the bf. I can scarcely believe it. Let me give a little snapshot of things as they stand now:
*C is an easy-going, music loving, sports playing, tall, muscular, lover of animals with a good career
*He's supportive and attentive (but not so much that I feel like I'm suffocating)
*He's perfectly fine with my quirks (like my loves of Merlin, ice cubes, & Bravo, my usage of acronymns (OMG and WTF are my faves) and how much I loathe feet, *shudders*).
*He told his friends he thinks I'm smart and funny
*He's said he loves me; twice.
Love has always been kind of a dirty word to me. Not because I'm anti-love or anything but because I'm just anti "the crap that happens in its name". The first time he said it I laughed it off and changed the subject. The second time he said it I didn't say anything at all because I couldn't say it back.
I didn't love him then. I do now.
That was probably the hardest realization I've had to come to terms with in a long time. I was standing in my bathroom, brushing my hair before going to bed when some random memory of one of any thousand of minutes we'v espent together came to mind; I remember thinking to myself then "God, I love him" and then a few moments later once my brain had a chance to process what I had just thought "HUH?!?".
I really didn't think I could put myself through love and its subsequent drama again, but it looks like I was wrong. Y'know what, I've never been so glad to be wrong (and yes, I know how sappy I sound. Ignore the sap, I'm still the same gal I was before, I promise!!).
The only problem is I haven't told him yet. He told me twice using words. I'm more of a "let me just demonstrate my feelings through actions" kind of person. Yesss, I know relationships are all about compromise and I'm probably going to have to just say the words but I am already once bitten. I don't think he'd ever hurt me purposefully but any time you give your heart to someone you have to have tremendous faith in them. Soapbox message: It's hard to have faith in anyone after the rather explosive breakup I had but I am very glad to report that it can be done.

Missing22.
Y'ello bloggers! Long time no speak. So I should have a lot to say, right? Ha, if you thought yes, you thought wrong. Yeah, much has happened, but in typical Claire fashion, I can't be bothered to force myself to rehash all of that minutiae having already suffered through it once. I know, I'm terrible.
Here are the main bullet points:
* OMG!! I'm going to be a mother!! A godmother that is, but I'm going to spoil this baby as if it he were my own. He should be born literally any day now and he's a big one! He's nearly 9 lbs.
* I'm still with the b/f, C. Things aren't perfect and thank goodness because that shit would drive me nuts. He's smart, funny, and bless him, thinks I'm practically perfect; as a result, I've decided to keep him around *LOL*.
* I am officially back at the size I was in 6th grade (I'm even smaller on top actually). Very exciting!
* My return to Uni has thus far been successful! WootWoot!
* I've got a few pretty bad vitamin deficiencies. Long story short, I've got to take like a million different vitamins every day now. In a perfect world, I'd remember to, but I'm doing my best! Ugh, the potassium deficiency is the worse because I keep getting Charley horses/dead leg.
* Evol!ex is history. No, he's not dead; just out of the picture. I'm pretty sure he moved, so yay!! I forgot he even existed until I stumbled across some old pics of us on my flashdrive (your head would spin if you saw how fast those got deleted).
AND LASTLY
* I'm feeling pretty happy with everything in my life! Not sure how long this will last (*knocks on wood*) but I'm loving it!
Now you can consider yourself more or less updated with my goings on. ALA Ringo: "Peace and love, peace and love."

Check-In 08/09/10
It's been an eventful month (or so) and as ususal, I won't go into it all now because I'm lazy, hah. Well, it's kind of a daunting task so I'll list the highlights at least.
Claire is: no longer single (and may be moving soon *crosses fingers*), still stuck in the same bullshti job, 100% recovered from mono and the accident (and her car is too!), still writing, trying to lose the last 15 pounds to reach her dream weight (THIS!! This has been driving me crazy lately. I'm still trying to find the right balance between exercise and calorie intake), and lastly, so close to graduating she can taste it (Mmm; tastes like victory).
I haven't had a lot of time to spend online because I've been trying so hard to stay on top of work and school and my "social life". I miss my online peeps tho :/ Hope everyone's doing all right! For any that are interested, I have Skype now and unlimited texting, so shoot me a message to stay in touch.

ExCuSe Me MiStEr
It's only Tuesday.
My God.
Itsonlyfrickintuesdaywhichmeansthisweekisntevenclose
tobeingfuckingover. *sighs* Let's see if I can get this all out before my head exxplodes.
The weekend was in a word; amazing. I spent all three days with my 1 year old goddaughter who is the cutest thing ever. On the second day, my uncle had some car trouble which led to me being stuck outside for over an hour and being devoured by mosquitoes (for some reason those sumbitches loooove me >.<). I got over that.
On Monday, I had two exams so I stayed up all night Sunday studying. My first exam went well until I got to the last page (but let's not discuss that) my second exam went great; I finished the 25 questions in less than 10 minutes.
Feeling pretty pleased with myself for a job well done, I decided to head over to the local WalMart to pick up a few things. On the way there, I got rear ended by a MUCH larger truck. My life didn't flash before my eyes or anything; it was more like one minute I'm at a red light waiting my turn to go and the next minute my car is hurtling forward through traffic and my seatbelt's choking the crap out of me (thanfully not literally). My car/my BABY is now completely totaled out. Thanks to adrenaline, I didn't feel anything at the time of the accident (I was a lil shaky but otherwise fine) but now I feel it all. Oh-Em-Gee.
Worst part? If the person that hit me had been going just a bit faster, I wouldn't be alive today.
Reeaaalllly puts things in perspective.Which I've said before but this time I mean it. Or more accurately, I WANT to mean it.
My God.

Ketchup
I'm bloody awful at staying on top of this thing. Sorry all.
So what have I been up to lately? A little work, a little school (A's all the way baby), a little working out,and lots and lots of socializing stuff. It's been good times! I've met some awesome people and made some decisions that I think will pay off soon. Like the decision to pursue my master's. I looked into it and quite a few people with just a bachelor's in my degree field are the ones that were among the first to be laid off once the economy started to tank. I have no idea how I'm going to afford it, but in Scarlet O'Hara fashion, I'll think about it some other time.
What else? Ah, I've become something of a writing machine lately. S'good times! I still hit walls a plenty but I don't have to mentally struggle for ages in front of a screen only to wind up with nothing of use any more (*knocks on wood*).
Other than that, I'm just counting down the days until my shows come back on TV. September's too far away!

"Sing in me, O Muse"
Lately, I've found myself in that really good writing place. You know the one; where you find yourself with paper to pen (or hands to the keyboard), you blink, and the next thing you know, you've got a finished story or chapter in front of you and--most importantly!!--it's not complete crap. It's happened to me at least 3 times in the last 9 days, which is amazing since I'm normally found on hands & knees begging my muse/the literary gods to give me an idea or a sentence; something.
I think I can blame part of this idea surge on Livejournal and some of the communities there. Sure, there are tons of *gags*tweens*gags* there, but there are also some really great writers and reviewers to support you. This' old news I'm sure to most, but it's new to me! I always thought LJ was a waste of time but now I consider it to be a good place to get ideas from.
The internet may very well redeem itself to me yet. Heh.

So It Turns Out...
that braces are nowhere near as sexy and exciting as They make them out to be.
I finally sort of have the money to get braces at loooong last (and on a payment plan may I add) and I just got them put on this morning. I already wanted them off by lunch.
Aside from the spectacularly special speech impediment I've now gained (BTW, I couldn't begin to say that phrase if I wanted to), the fact that I am almost 30 and wearing orthodontics, oh and not to mention the pain of my teeth being forced back into their proper places, they're lovely. You can barely see them. It's not until I say something that you can even tell I have them on since I got the clear ones.
I've come to the conclusion that this is God's way of punishing me for teasing my friend James in middle school. Freaking karma. I swear I only teased him because I had a crush on him!! I mean he played the king of the fairies in our big theater production and that was a huge sexy deal when I was 14.
...
Wow. A part of me can't believe that's actually true. But it is. Scary.
Just 364 more days of hellish torture to go...

Self Indulgent Hand Wringing in the 1st Degree.
So lately I've been thinking a lot about kids. And how I'll probably never have them. It's kinda funny when you think about Darwin and Spencer's 'survival of the fittest' and think maybe there's a reason some people can't reproduce. Any child of mine would have a laundry list of allergies, horrible vision, and dyslexia for starters. Maybe it's for the best that I can't.

The Decline
So, I've managed to lose twenty pounds since New Years. How? It turns out that whole excercise thing everyone's been talking about actually works! I know; it's crazy right?? Hah, seriously though it's pretty awesome. I'm really going to up the ante during the summer (gonna make that 105+ degree heat work in my favor) and I'm hoping to be able to pull this costume off by Halloween without wanting to wear a bag over my head:
STAR TREK'S LT. UHURA

Hmm, found a couple of other costumes I kind of like on that same site:
"GERMAN BEER GIRL"

"HIPPIE CHICK"

Anyway! Not much else to post about right now. Except that I expect the ex to contact me this week *headdesks repeatedly* Ugh, it's a long story but a friend of mine emailed him and I have the feeling he's going to pin whatever she wrote on ME instead since he hates her. I resolve to be strong; if he should even try to apologize I'll slap him with a trout or something (Gie-ism!).
Vayan con dios todos.

The Danger of Four Letter Words...
Like 'Want' for example.
As a great man once sang, 'You can't always get what you want' but I'd like to add that that certainly doesn't stop you from wanting it. Craving it even. No matter how very bad for you that might be. Bad in the good AND bad way. Mmm. Man drama is teh suck.

Service
So. After almost two years of consideration, I've made a pretty huge decision to serve my country.NOT in the military (those that know me, know I don't do well with orders for one and for two, I'm allergic to almost everything outside anyway).
I'm applying to join Americorps. I haven't told anyone really yet except for the people I'm asking to act as references. I'm so incredibly excited at the opportunity to work a job I'm actually going to like!! The pay's going to be absolute crap, but so what? I'm finally doing it!! Woot! Wish me luck!! And if you get an email begging for a reference be kind, LOL.

BIG Night.
Tonight marks a momentous occasion!!!
I FINISHED A STORY.
Well,it'snot so much a story as it is a fanficlet, but it is done bitches!! Whoo! *dances* I haven't been able to finish any of the fics I've been working on for the last *glances at watch* YEAR without either getting bored, tossing the whole shebang out (over 10,000 words and many nights burnin' the midnight oil later), or just being stuck in godawful writer's block (*knocks on wood, crosses self, throws salt over shoulder, and spits for good measure*).
The story I wrote is about a character I despise and another I find to be--how do I put this??--a conniving, malicious whore and how they wound up together at least for one night. It's dark, violent, and twisted. Completely unlike anything I've ever written. And I love it!! I'm definitely going to try and write some more. May the literary gods smile down on us all!
