I haven't been this miserable in a good while. Not since I was trapped in a car with my former roommates blasting Britney Spears *shudders*. I thought I had strep throat which is in a word hell or at the very least hell's bastard cousin. Instead I have a sore throat with a bunch of flu like symptoms...Hmm.
The symptoms all started about three days ago; I felt lethargic, sneezy, my throat was raw, I had an upset stomach and just the kind of all over body aches I usually associate with the flu. Sunday was spent in bed, sneezing and coughing and resulted in my having a nose bright red enough to vie for Rudolph's position on Santa's sleigh...if I was a magical flying reindeer that is. I think you get what I'm trying to say, my nose is extremely red.
Monday I went to work and felt not great but okay. My throat was muy, muy scratchy, and I was sneezing and had the cough plus the runny nose. By the time I got off work though (I think maybe I overdid things there) I was a complete and utter wreck and that has continued to today (I actually passed out for a good twoo hours while writing this. Side effect of all the meds I'm on).
Best part of all this? I don't currently have insurance (thanks to those f*ckers at BCBS)! Which would leave me monumentally screwed because I can't afford to pay out of pocket hospital fees. But fortunately, I still have some antibiotics from the last time I had it, so whoo^hoo for that! I just checked WebMd and I'm hoping they're right when they say this shit should only last for about a week. In that case, I've only got about 3 more days. Seventy two long ass hours, which is 4,320 agonizing minutes. That's 25,9200 seconds of misery folks. Ha, thank god I still have my sense of humor and ability to do math in my head!
