I've had two consecutive days off this week. Crazy, I know, but that's only because I pulled yet another double shift earlier on, right after I promised myself I would never do that again. Gah.
I'm still weighing my options on my work situation. I've noticed there have been a lot of layoffs in the past couple of weeks and I'm thinking that's why the only job I've found in the right driving distance, with the right number of hours, and with the right $$ an hour was one that I could never do. It was a job at the State Hospital. And before anyone wonders, "well, what does that matter". Perhaps I need to reintroduce myself. Hi, I'm Claire, I almost drove myself nuts in a relationship trying to fix a high functioning clinically depressed, narcissistic, manipulative, self-flagellating slacker/pathological liar, and I'm not really looking to go down that road again, thanks.
Anyway, I've watched way more TV and movies these few days than I did all last month. My sis has me watching Psych which I enjoyed. It's fun and fluffy- and it doesn't hurt that the guy who plays Sean's a cutie.
I stumbled across Eureka myself and I watched all 12 episodes of season one in the last twenty four hours. Can I just say that Ed Quinn is mmmMmmmm good?
Yes?
Okay, good.
My mom and brother got me to watch Lakeview Terrace, which I thought I was going to hate, but actually found entertaining despite some of the disturbing subject matter. Everyone else in the movie fell flat for me. The acting was IMO, so-so. I think there was more chemistry between Samuel L. Jackson and the husband than between the couple.
I have a confession: I can't keep myself from laughing when Samuel L. Jackson turns the crazy/angry inner beast on. He's crazy good at it (You know you loved the scene in Pulp Fiction when he's busting those losers in the apartment and he tries the hamburger-"This is a tasty burger!" right before he starts quoting scripture and he and Travolta kill everyone. Or the "What?" scene. How could you not? They're classic!).
Wanna refresher? Here ya go. It is a Tarantino movie though, so prepare for the copius swearing:
I also watched the newest Underworld: Rise of the Lycans which had its moments. Overall, I wasn't too impressed. The first two movies were more entertaining. There was a lot of overacting. I think that's what bugged me. It worked for the guy who played the Vampire father but for everyone else, blech. Am I the only one who wanted to sing the "We are the Titans" song after seeing the title of this one?
Yes?
Okay. I'll shut up now.
Just needed to do some blabbing before bedtime.
